It needs to follow a particular format and needs to be short and to the point. Employers don’t have time to read a novel. They want to look at it and know instantly that they want to meet you. So make sure it is well formatted and clear and easy to read. Remember this is the first impression that the Employer get of you so so what to stand out.

Remember, you need at least 3 referees that can talk about you as an employee (no family members). The more recent the better. If you don’t have these then people in the community who can say great things about your character and reliability.
Also, keep your resume on a USB stick and keep copies of how you personalise it for different jobs, save them with a name that will help you find them (eg workshop in Parramatta). This just helps you to shorten the process with each version you create.
